Tigers win Winch invitational; girls third

LAUREL — On Thursday, May 4, Osmond traveled to the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge track for the fifth annual Jim Winch Track Invitational.  The Tigers looked surprisingly sharp considering just two days earlier, they competed in the conference meet.
Starting in the field, Makenzie Johnson won the girls’ high jump at 4 ft., 10 in. and Caitlin Kumm was third at 4 ft., 6 in. Brock Johnson was third for the boys at 5 ft., 8 in. and Cole Moes tied for fourth at 5 ft., 6 in.  Kennedy Johnson finished second in the triple jump at 32 ft., 2 in. and Kyle Swallow also finished second in the triple jump at 39 ft., 11.5 in. Nick Reikofski was fourth at 37 ft., 7 in.  Aaron Chishiba was fifth in the long jump at 18 ft., 2 in. and Swallow was sixth at 18 ft., 0 in.
In the boys’ shot, Bryan Manzer finished fourth with his best-ever toss of 42 ft., 8 in. Tyler Reikofski and Alexis Solorzano both made the finals, but did not place. Mary Kahny took fifth place for the girls with her best-ever toss of 30 ft., 2 in.  In the discus, Mary made the finals, but did not place. For the boys, Tyler Reikofski edged Cole Moes 125 ft., 9 in. to 125 ft., 5 in. for fourth and fifth places, respectively.
