WAUSA – Osmond had a rematch with Niobrara-Verdigre in the championship game on Saturday night. The Tigers faced the Cougars in the Verdigre Holiday Tournament, suffering a two-point overtime loss in that contest.
“I knew our guys were looking forward to another chance to compete against Niobrara-Verdigre. We felt we outplayed the Cougars in our previous matchup, but just didn’t finish the game the way we needed to,” commented Coach Schulze. Both teams were efficient on the offensive end and proved to be difficult for each other to defend. The Tigers stuck to their game plan, forcing the Cougars to hit contested jump shots throughout the game. The Cougars were able to knock several of those shots down in the first three quarters, but were unable to get those shots to drop in the fourth.
