Tigers fall to Trojans, finish second in tournament

WAKEFIELD — Osmond suffered its second loss of the season with a 53-51 defeat at the hands of the Wakefield Trojans. The Tigers have had competitive games with Wakefield in the past couple seasons and this one was no different. It was a tightly-contested game for all four periods, but cooler heads and Wakefield’s fourth quarter free throws proved to be what sealed the deal.

“Free throw attempts in the fourth quarter of a close game are typically a solid indicator of how aggressively a team is playing on offense. Teams that can stay disciplined and attack the basket are typically rewarded with high percentage shots and free throws,” commented Coach Todd Schulze. That proved to be true in this contest as the Trojans went seven for 12 at the line, while the Tigers were a mere one for two. Osmond was led in scoring by Brock Johnson’s 21 points to go along with his four rebounds and three assists. Tucker Timmerman added 10 points and nine rebounds.
