Conference Meet
WINSIDE — The Osmond wrestlers competed at the Lewis and Clark Conference meet at Winside on Thursday, Jan. 19.  The Tigers scored 20 points and finished in ninth place.  Conference champion was Plainview, followed by Wakefield and Creighton.  Osmond had two conference medalists, with Paul Gubbels finishing fourth at 138 lbs. and Colton Beacom finishing fourth at 152 lbs.
“We were happy that both wrestlers were able to earn a medal at the conference meet, but still feel that we could have done a little better,” said Coach Larry McKenna. “Paul finished second in his pool, but had to forfeit his last two matches because of an injury.  We bumped Colton up to the 152-lb. class and he wrestled well, but lost a couple of close matches, otherwise he might have finished a little higher.”
