Three Osmond indoor track records fall at Wayne State College meet

WAYNE — On Saturday, March 18, the Osmond High School track and field teams traveled to Wayne State College for the Division 1 meet.  The Tigers had some impressive performances and three record-breaking efforts.
The first was by the girls’ 4×160 relay team as they won the event in a time of 1:32.52. Team members were Haven Schultze, Makenzie Johnson, Kennedy Johnson and Andrea Schmit.  The record broken was 1:33.27 from 2006 with team members Kelsey Nuesch, Betsy Krienert, Kristen Peschel and Amanda Hodson.
The girls’ 1,600-meter relay team also bettered the indoor record as they were clocked in 4:38.06, which was good for third place. Current team members are Madeline Huwaldt, Schultze, Kennedy Johnson and Makenzie Johnson. They broke the record of 4:41.59 set by the 2010 team of Brianna Kumm, Emily Haselhorst, Laurel Krohn and Carrisa Gutz.
