Kumm, Schmit named all-conference

ALLEN — Two Osmond Lady Tiger girls’ basketball players earned All-Conference recognition for the Lewis and Clark West Division for their performances throughout the year. Junior Caitlin Kumm was one of eight West Division players selected as “All-Conference” performers. Junior Andrea Schmit made the list of eight honorable mention players.
This is Kumm’s second consecutive year being named to the list. She finished the season scoring 12.2 points per game, produced 5.4 rebounds per game and had slightly more than three steals per game — nearly three times more than any other Lady Tiger. As one of the Lady Tigers’ most reliable free-throw shooters, Kumm scored more than a fourth of her points from the line (63-for-96, 66%). Overall, she was 74-for-303 from the field (24%).
Her counterpart, Andrea Schmit, had a solid season. She led the team in rebounding (6.8 per game) and scored 8.4 points per game (59-221, 27%). Schmit shot 44-for-82 from the free-throw line and had nine blocks and 18 steals.
The other seven girls selected to the All-Conference team were Sara Castanada and Amber Bruegmann of Bloomfield, Carlee Thies and Carlie Nordhues of Randolph, Krissy Kumm and Regan Hennings of Wausa and Sydney Walton of Creighton.
Honorable mention selections were Renee Kauth of Bloomfield; Jordyn Anderson, Catie Williams and Nikki Mosel of Plainview; Megan Klienschmit of Wausa and Chelsea Boelter and Cassidy Moeller of Creighton.
