Services held for Margaret Clayton

OMAHA — Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Clayton, 71, of Omaha was held Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Gretna.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with vigil service at the church.
Mrs. Clayton died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016.
Margaret Mary was born Nov. 27, 1945, in Sterling, CO, to Richard and Rose Margaret (Hecker) McGill. She attended St. Anthony Elementary and graduated from Sterling High School. After high school, she graduated from Northeast Junior College, the University of Northern Colorado in Greelely, and Western State College in Gunnison, CO. She taught at Sexson Elementary School in Sterling. On June 6, 1970, she married Dave Clayton in St. Anthony Church in Sterling. The couple moved to Kearney in 1974. After taking a short leave to start a family, Margie taught at Kearney Public Schools at Glenwood and Park elementary schools. While at Kearney, she was blessed with the birth of three children: Andrea, Stephanie and Elizabeth. After she retired, she and Dave moved to Omaha to be close to her family members. No matter what event or where it was, she was always there to cheer them on at their activities. She substitute taught at Gretna Public Schools. She truly loved children and watching them grow and learn. She loved her family, traveling to all events she could attend. A loving wife and a caring mother and grandmother, Margie was always generous to her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Dave; daughters Andrea Johnson (sons C. J., Cade and Keagan), Stephanie Boeselager (son Sam and daughter Addison) and Elizabeth (Larry) Hovorka; sister Marcia ( Richard) Stein of Chadron; mother-in-law Lillian Weinrich of Wausa, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Valerie Buchanan of Osmond.
