FFA members to attend state convention

NORFOLK — On Wednesday, March 1, 10 Osmond FFA members traveled to Northeast Community College in Norfolk to participate in the District 4 FFA Career Development Event Contest. Participating in the contest for the first time as an independent chapter, the Osmond students excelled in their respective contests.
The agriscience team of Zach Alderson, Landon Stelling, Josh Gansebom and Madeline Huwaldt finished third overall, being defeated only by Crofton and Creighton. Earning individual honors were Zach, Landon and Josh, placing fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively. Madeline finished an honorable 24th. This team will compete at the state competition in April.
The farm management team of Tristan Maertins, Alex Alderson, Tyler von Rentzell and Nick Reikofski placed second and qualified for state. Earning individual honors were Tristan, second, and Alex, fourth. Tyler and Nick finished in 18th and 20th place, respectively.
