PIERCE — Peggy Haas of Pierce was the recipient of the Hall of Fame Award during a ceremony held Friday, July 21, at the Pierce County Fairgrounds. Following is the information that was read during presentation of the award.
The Hall of Fame Award was started in 1983 and is given to those who have gone above and beyond in service to the Pierce County Fair.
This year’s recipient has been involved with the Pierce County Fair for more than 50 years. Her involvement began when her children were in 4-H and has never stopped. After her children were out of 4-H, she remained involved by assisting with open class exhibits at Floral Hall. That grew into being an assistant superintendent and eventually becoming the general superintendent over the entire class department in 2007.
