Osmond residents pull together after fire

OSMOND — Shortly after the fire whistle shrieked through the Sunday afternoon calm here, Osmond residents discovered the local grocery store was on fire.
It didn’t take long, and area residents began to pull together and do what they could to help out.
Community members, including individuals and businesses such as Osmond Mini Mart and Tiger Tavern, provided food and drinks for the firefighters that poured in from Wausa, Randolph, Plainview and Norfolk. Others showed up to help serve food at the fire hall.
Other Osmond businesses — Helena Chemical and Buchanan Well Co. — supplied water from private wells to help knock down the blaze.
Osmond Fire Chief Marty Kruse expressed his and the Osmond department’s appreciation to those who brought water, Gatorade and lunch to the firemen.
