NELIGH — On Tuesday, April 11, the Osmond Tiger track teams traveled to Neligh for an invitational meet. “It has been 10 years since the meet has been held in Neligh and their new track was great for our kids to run on,” noted Coach Joe Ortmeier.
The boys’ side of the meet was close all day, but the girls’ results were decided fairly early as Elkhorn-Valley won the meet by 36 points. At the break, the Tigers had 66 points, Elkhorn-Valley 68 and Neligh-Oakdale 69 points. By the end of the meet, even after winning seven events, the Warriors came out 3½ points ahead of the Tigers.
Kyle Swallow won the triple jump on his final attempt with a mark of 39 ft., 10 in. Brett Simmons won the 400 meters in his best-ever time of 53.5. Curtis Kralicek won both the 110 high hurdles and the 300 hurdles, both in quality times.  His 110 time was 16.5 and his 300 time was 42.7. Anthony Heiman took gold in the 800 meters in a season’s best 2:12.0.  The 400-relay team of Tyler Reikofski, Nick Reikofski, Brock Johnson and Simmons covered the single lap race in 47.2. In the final event, the Tigers won the 1,600-meter relay easily by nine seconds. Kralicek, Johnson, Heiman and Simmons ran a season’s-best 3:42.5.
