Newcomers earn seats on 42R Board

Challengers to join 42R school board

OSMOND – The lone local contest in the Tuesday, Nov. 4, General Election was that of District 42R Board of Education.

There were four candidates for three positions. Preliminary results indicate there will be two newcomers to the board.

Incumbent Ed Brummels was returned to office. Joining the board in January will be newcomers Paul Koehler and Aaron A. von Rentzell. Incumbent Cheryl Friedrich finished in fourth place.

Silhacek wins power district race

Ron Stech of Osmond was a candidate for the Northeast Nebraska Public Power District Subdivision Two Board position (southeast of Osmond). He was opposing incumbent Larry Silhacek, who was returned to office.

Votes will be canvassed later this week, indicated Pierce County Clerk Shannon Wragge. Complete vote tallies will be printed in the Nov. 12 issue of the Republican.
