More budget hearings planned

OSMOND — Budget planning continues for political subdivisions in the county. Two entities have scheduled hearings for next week for their 2017-18 budgets.
Rural Fire District
The Osmond Rural Fire District has a proposed budget of $398,254 for the 2017-18 year. Last year, the figure was $333,000. The total personal and real property tax requirement for the coming year is $80,263.23. Last year it was $79,947.73.
The fire district budget hearing will take place on Monday, Sep. 18, at 7 p.m. at the fire hall meeting room.
City of Osmond
The proposed budget for the city of Osmond is $1,595,300. Last year, the figure was $2,865,374.17. The non-bond property tax requirement for 2017-18 is $284,900. Last year the amount was $281,600. The bond retirement property tax requirement is $110,000. That number last year was $109,873.75. The proposed total property tax request is $284,900 while last year the figure was $171,726.25. The proposed tax rate for the ensuing year is $0.7004400. Last year the figure was $0.704895.
The city budget hearing will take place on Tuesday, Sep. 19, at 7 p.m. in the city office.
