Mayo Clinic Diet to begin April 4

OSMOND — The spring Mayo Clinic Diet class will be offered at Osmond General Hospital beginning Tuesday, April 4. Whether you want to jump into spring or continue with your New Year’s resolution of losing weight, now may be the time for you, said Deb Schmit, RN. This 11-week program helps you lose weight and keep it off for a lifetime, she added.
Get a quick, gratifying start with “Lose it,” the phase of the diet designed to help you lose six to 10 pounds in just two weeks, Mrs. Schmit said. Eat the foods you love — in moderation — in the “Live it” phase, designed to help you continue to lose one to two pounds per week until you reach your goal. Learn “all the extra stuff” in the third phase of the diet, she continued. This phase gives you the tools to keep the weight off for a lifetime.
Everyone wants to lose weight, but it’s more important to learn how to be healthier and, in the end, live better and longer, Mrs. Schmit advised.
This diet has been ranked as one of the top diets for 2016 and, for the first time, a second edition of the Mayo Clinic Diet will be offered. Please call ahead at (402) 748-3393 to enroll and so that new books can be ordered, Mrs. Schmit concluded.
