OSMOND — Summerfest ’17 included a new feature — that of naming an Outstanding Osmond Farm Family. Receiving that inaugural honor was the Everett Gansebom family. The family was introduced to Summerfest guests at the parade on Sunday afternoon, after which they rode in the parade on a flatbed trailer pulled by a vintage International tractor driven by Rod Ronspies. At the evening program, the Ganseboms were presented a plaque and a brief family history was read by Randy Jochum.
The history is reprinted here:
Everett and Helen Gansebom are both natives of the Osmond area. They are the third generation of Ganseboms to call Osmond home.
Everett is the son of Willie and Christina (Kube) Gansebom. Willie’s dad, William, came to America from Germany in 1885 at the age of 23. He married and settled on a farm south of Osmond as did Everett’s dad, Willie.
