Debbie Hoffart chosen 2013 Caring Kind

Osmond General Hospital employees recently chose Debbie Hoffart of Osmond as the recipient of their 2013 Caring Kind Employee award.  Although Debbie has been a ward clerk with the hospital for only two years, she sets a true example of what customer service is all about, noted CEO Celine Mlady.

“She always greets everyone with a smile, asks how she can help them and if she can’t, she will find the appropriate person that can,” was among comments stated to Mrs. Mlady. “Debbie is polite, friendly, caring, gentle, kind, understanding, positive and sets a very good example for the hospital.”  These attributes were used by fellow employees when choosing Debbie as their “caring kind” recipient.

The Caring Kind ceremony was held Friday, Oct. 25, at Embassy Suites in LaVista.  Present as Debbie received her award was husband Roger, Debra Wragge, Director of Nursing, and Mrs. Mlady.

Mrs. Mlady stated additional comments included:   “Debbie has an optimistic outlook, never complains and helps with extra tasks when busy.”  “She is sympathetic to the needs of patients, their families and co-workers.”  “Listens to them and feels for them.”  “She is efficient, always helpful, goes above and beyond her duties, and is willing to stay late to help with admissions in ER if needed.”

Each year at its convention, Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) recognizes Nebraska hospitals’ finest at The Caring Kind Awards Luncheon with the “Caring Kind” award.  This prestigious award, in its 34th year, recognizes outstanding health care employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities.

The NHA 2013 theme, “Healthy Communities:  Hospitals Meeting the Challenge,” embraces a healthy community as one that is continually creating and improving physical and social environments, expanding community resources and challenges health care leaders to continually improve their hospitals and communities to their maximum potential.

Debbie epitomizes this “challenge” in her job.  Like her co-workers wrote, “She is an exceptional ward clerk – very patient, very thorough and pleasant to work with.”  “Her personality exemplifies Osmond Genera Hospital as a caring facility.” stated Ms. Mlady  “Thank you, Debbie, and congratulations!  I am proud to recognize you as our 2013 caring kind employee.”
