City Council has lengthy meeting

OSMOND — The Osmond City Council met Monday, April 10, with a large group of visitors in attendance, including Kelly Hodson, Vern Jahde, Alan and Joanne Ekberg, Josh Brummels, city maintenance supervisor Tom Kruse, Bill Hansen, City Attorney Dennis Collins and engineer Roger Protzman of JEO Consulting Group, Inc.
Mr. and Mrs. Ekberg and Brummels voiced their concerns regarding the condition of the alley behind their residences. After some discussion on the subject, Mayor James Bessmer suggested that Hodson and Council Member Doug Schmit coordinate and compile ideas that refer to a potential concrete pad and downward sloping as a means of alleviating the ongoing problem.
The council discussed estimates for a new generator for the lift station at 7th and Hill streets. Estimated costs exceed $20,000, making it necessary for the new generator to be let for bids. City maintenance worker Bill Hansen was authorized to write up specifications and place an ad for letting bids, which will be opened at the April 25 council meeting.
