Blecha receives ‘Citizen’ honor

OSMOND — The tradition of naming an Outstanding Osmond Citizen continued at Summerfest ’17 on Sunday, June 25. Emcee Jim Schmit introduced Don Blecha to the parade crowd gathered at Poolside Park. He and his wife, Bernice, were then invited to join the Gansebom family on the “float” for a trip around the parade route.
At the evening’s program, Don’s nomination was shared with guests by  Randy Jochum. The nomination is reprinted here:
Attention of Osmond Park Board turned to upgrading Poolside Park in 2005 with its first project purchasing a caboose and constructing a stage as a focal point of the park. Don Blecha was a member of that first board and has seen a number of park and recreation projects completed.
