Bartz services held Tuesday

OSMOND — Services for Glenda “Gaga” Bartz, 66, of Osmond were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Osmond with Father Timothy Forget officiating. Rosary began at 7 pm. Monday following the visitation at the church. Interment was in the parish cemetery in rural Osmond. Pallbearers were Michael Vargas, Tanner Vargas, Tyler Gansebom, Kearney Lackas, Damon Olson, Dennis Kuhl, Doug Schmit and Dave Buchholz. Organist Melissa Lind accompanied soloist-cantor Corie Clausen for the songs, “Here I Am Lord,” “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Only A Shadow” and “You Raise Me Up.”
Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, also at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Osmond. Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond was in charge of arrangements.
Glenda died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Glenda “Gaga” was born Nov. 7, 1950, in Sioux City to Harry and Stella (Frye) Green. She grew up in North Sioux City, SD, attending McCook Elementary and Riverside High School. On May 2, 1970, Glenda married Leon Bartz of Crofton in Sioux City. After living in numerous locations, they moved to Osmond in 1987. Eventually, they founded B and C Industrial Contractors, where she handled the office and bookkeeping responsibilities. The couple was blessed with three children, Robin, Amie and Travis. Glenda had a deep love of family that extended well beyond her immediate family. She accumulated many dear friends at the various places she lived. Glenda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and just visiting. She was affectionately known as Gaga by more than just her grandchildren, whom she adored with her whole being.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Leon; daughters, Robin (Paul) Koehler and Amie (Motis) Vargas, and son Travis, all of Osmond; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Kerry Olsen of North Sioux City, SD; two sisters-in-law, Leora Renken of Sioux City and Charolette Henseth of Irene, SD, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Stella Green; parents-in-law Elton and Hilda Bartz; brothers-in-law Melvin, Roger and Larry Bartz and sister-in-law Carol Bartz.
