42R school board reorganizes

OSMOND — The District 42R School Board met Monday, Jan. 9. Prior to the meeting, board members and administrators met in Joe Ortmeier’s industrial technology rooms to see some of the new equipment purchased with a portion of the monies from the district’s reVISION grant.The board meeting began with new board member Larry Krohn taking his oath of office. Election of board officers took place, with Michelle Reikofski and Mark Moes retaining their offices of president and vice president, respectively, and Paul Koehler elected secretary-treasurer. Teri Folkers was appointed as board secretary.
Principal Michael Brown reported on a teacher in-service to be held Jan. 23; junior high basketball games on Jan. 9, 12, 16, 19, 21 and 23, as well as dates in February, and the following upcoming activities: Jan. 10, basketball game against Neligh-Oakdale; Jan. 13, basketball against Hartington; Jan. 14, junior varsity basketball tournament at Wausa and varsity wrestling at Battle Creek; Jan. 16, junior varsity basketball at Plainview; Jan. 17, basketball at Bloomfield; Jan. 21, conference band at Wayne State college and wrestling at Neligh; Jan. 20, basketball against Clearwater-Orchard; Jan. 24, basketball at laurel; Jan. 26, basketball against Ewing; Jan. 26, FFA district livestock judging at Norfolk; Jan. 27, conference basketball tournament begins. Mr. Brown reported that student numbers are down to 195.
