LCC School Board considers softball co-op with Ponca

LAUREL — Discussion is still taking place on a Laurel-Concord-Coleridge softball co-op with Ponca.
Principal/Activity Director Tim Vanderheiden talked about the possibility of a softball co-op during the Feb. 13 LCC School board meeting.
A softball co-op between the two schools raises a few questions.
Would the participating students drive themselves to Ponca for practice and games or would the school need to provide a vehicle and a driver for the trips?
Would participation in the softball program take away from the L-C-C volleyball program?
Vanderheiden expressed another option.
“Do we let Ponca pay for everything and just go along with whatever they want to do,” Vanderheiden said.
