Smiles light up the night at special event

LAUREL — The lights had been turned on in Laurel and there was a feeling of Christmas in the air last Thursday evening, Dec. 1.

Santa and Mrs. Claus were in town, stores stayed open late for holiday shopping needs, snacks and treats were offered to guests, prizes and a scavenger hunt proved to be a lot of fun during Laurel’s annual Night of Lights.

People stopped in at the City Auditorium and enjoyed a soup supper, which was prepared and served by the United Presbyterian Church. Vendor tables, which were set up on both sides of the auditorium, offered a variety of items for shoppers.

The City Office was a favorite stopping place for kids during the Night of Lights.
