School policies are altered after lockdown

LAUREL — School and law enforcement officials are pleased at how a potentially dangerous situation here was handled last week.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School was briefly locked down on Friday after an unidentified person was found inside the school.

The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 10:40 a.m. Friday about a person inside their building who didn’t belong there.

Students and staff were removed from the area and the individual was isolated by designated school personnel.
