MS gym will be temporary home court for Lady Bears

LAUREL — Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball players could be on the new gym floor by the first of October.

The new floor has been installed. A bear’s head, representing the school’s mascot, along with the letters LCC have been painted on the floor. The floor has also been sealed.

The new bleachers should arrive by the mid-September according to High School Principal Jay Vance.

“We are currently in a holding period. The floor is done unless there is a little touch-up work that needs to be done. The bleachers will be coming within a few weeks,” Vance said. “We are hoping to have the gym done by Oct. 1.”

The Sept. 5 volleyball game will be held at the Randolph School.

The first home volleyball game, which is against Plainview Sept. 19, will take place in the LCC Middle School gym at the Coleridge location.

The LCC/Creighton volleyball game scheduled for Oct. 3 is the first game scheduled for the new Laurel floor at the High School location.

“We are hoping to be on the floor at Laurel for the Oct. 3 game,” Vance said. “We will just have to wait and see.”
