Long-time LCC Coach wants to step aside

COLERIDGE —  Coaching duties for LCC’s long-time head volleyball coach may be coming to an end.
Patti Cunningham, who is one of the winningest coaches in the state, served as the assistant volleyball coach for one year and then put in 24 years as the head volleyball coach, has asked to be released from her coaching contract.
The request was relayed at Monday’s Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School board meeting.
Cunningham has asked to be released from her coaching contract after 25 years, according to Middle School Principal Tim Vanderheiden.
“Mrs. Cunningham expressed her appreciation on how supportive the community has been through the years,” Vanderheiden said.
Cunningham has definitely had an impact as a coach at the school.
