Laurel implement dealership to close

LAUREL — Grossenburg Implement will be closing its Laurel office at the end of October.

When contacted by reporters Tuesday, Barry Grossenburg declined to comment on the situation. However, several Grossenburg employees and Laurel City officials confirmed that the store would close as of Oct. 31.

“The loss of any business in our community is hard, but the loss of Grossenburg’s will sting more as they are one of the top-ten largest employers here in Laurel,” said Laurel Economic Development Director Luke Virgil. “Fortunately, the employees will not be out of jobs.  I have spoken with Courtney Berg and he noted that they will have the opportunity to transfer to the Grossenburg businesses at Hartington or Wayne.”
