Hansen’s dream marks 40 years in business

LAUREL — It all started as a kid with a dream.
Tim Hansen grew up in Laurel and graduated from high school in 1971.  He signed up for classes at Northeast Community College, but was too late to join the diesel mechanic classes for the year, so he took a year of welding before studying diesel mechanics.
On the weekends, Laurel residents were often asking him to fix their farm equipment, which he enjoyed doing.  After graduating from Northeast in 1974 and marrying his wife Yvonne in September of 1974, Hansen worked briefly for a construction company, then started a repair business in Norfolk.
But Hansen had bigger dreams.
He wanted to come back to his hometown and create a life and business.
Hansen shared his dream with Digger and Wilma Brodersen.  They sold him some land and Hansen began to build.
Today, Hansen Repair is celebrating 40 years of business.
