Drug Store break-in results in guilty plea

HARTINGTON — A plea agreement has been reached in a theft that occurred in Laurel last year.

Twenty-one year-old Megan Harmer, Blair, entered a guilty plea in County Court on May 15.

According to the police report on file in County Court, Laurel Police Chief Ryan Van Cleave responded to a burglary complaint at the Main Street Apothecary in November.

The owner, Christina Patefield, advised someone had broken into her business and stolen prescription drugs. Entrance had been gained through a rear door.

It appeared certain drugs had been targeted. Court documents show Harmer had been looking for hydrocodone, oxycontin, morphine and other substances considered to be pain killers.
