Drones, robots invade LCC Middle School

COLERIDGE — The education for Middle School students will be enhanced as they start working with rolling robots and flying drones the second semester.
The students will be challenged as they learn how to program the robots and drones.
Four rolling robots and four flying drones are being used as part of the STEM program which is a unique learning experience for students, according to Middle School Principal Tim Vanderheiden.
“Working with the robots and drones will include problem solving, creative thinking and collaboration,” Vanderheiden said.
The students may be given a chance to demonstrate what they have done with the robots and drones at half-time during one of the games.
A co-op for girls softball with the Ponca School could be an option for the LCC students.
The Ponca School has separated from working with South Sioux City with softball, according to Vanderheiden
