Counties may be involved in FloodPlain project

HARTINGTON — Plans for removing 133 structures in the City of Randolph from the FloodPlain are still in the works.
Randolph Community Development Director Gary Van Meter stopped  and visited with Cedar County Commissioners during the June 27 meeting to update them on the project.
The FloodPlain project involves plans for making improvements to the Middle Logan Creek channel along with the replacement of five to six bridges in order to reduce the risk of floods in Randolph.
One of the bridges that would be replaced is located on the Cedar Co./Pierce Co. line just west of Randolph. Van Meter had previously asked Cedar County Commissioners and Pierce County Board members for their involvement in replacing the bridge located on the county road.
