City Council hears second reading of garbage ordinance

LAUREL —  The Laurel City Council took the next step Sept. 11 on a city ordinance that could involve garbage pickup for residents during the Laurel City Council meeting.
A second reading was done for an ordinance that would allow Gill Hauling to pick up residential garbage. An amendment was made to the ordinance to change the cost from two dollars to six dollars for a second dumpster from Gill Hauling.
The third reading on the ordinance will be included on the agenda for the October City Council meeting.  At that time council members could agree to pass the ordinance.
