City Council gets a wildlife lesson

LAUREL — It appears as if wildlife may be moving into the city limits of Laurel.
Foxes, raccoons, turkey vultures and snakes are becoming a nuisance for some of the local residents.
A Nebraska Games and Parks Officer spoke to board members during the Laurel City Council meeting on Monday night.
Laurel Police Chief Ron Lundahl told board members he had recently received four calls on fox sightings.
“I can confirm the fox sightings,” Lundahl said. “I have seen one.”
Lundahl has also received several calls on raccoons being a nuisance in Laurel.
“Most of the raccoons that I have been dealing with are babies,” he said.
