Barbara J. “Bobbie” Johnson

HARTINGTON — Barbara J. “Bobbie” Johnson, 87, Hartington, died March 5, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, Hartington.
Visitation was one hour prior to the services Thursday at Golden Living Center.
Funeral Services were March 10  at the Golden Living Center, Hartington, with Rev. Lowell Hennigs officiating.
Burial was in the Hartington City Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.


Bobbie was born Feb. 25, 1924, at Emerson, to Emery and Elsie (Sawatzke) Greenwood. She grew up in the Crofton area and graduated from Crofton High School in 1942. She married Rahe “Benny” Johnson Feb. 10, 1945, at Crofton. They lived in Hartington from 1945-1951; O’Neill, from 1951-1953; Bloomfield, from 1953-1954; and Neligh, from 1954-1976; and in Hartington since 1976. Bobbie moved to the nursing home. now known as the Golden Living Center, Hartington, Nov. 9, 1987.
Bobbie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the ALCW.  She was also a former member of the Solitaires.
Bobbie is survived by her two sons and their wives, Jim and Virginia Johnson, Cheyenne , Wyo.; and Dan and Linda, Iola, Kan.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margery and Dale Haug, Yankton, S.D., and Patricia Nygaard, San Diego, Calif.; and a brother and wife, Ronald and Mavis Greenwood, Merrimac, N.H..
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benny, Jan. 20, 1980, at the age of 59, and a sister, Beth Heckert.
