HARTINGTON —Janelle McTaggart is retiring after 34 years with the postal service, 23 of those years serving as the postmaster at the Hartington Post Office.

May 30 will be McTaggart’s last day at the job she has held at the Hartington location since May 4, 1991.

McTaggart knows she will miss the every-day contact she has had with the customers.

“It was easy to get acquainted with people when we moved here. I appreciate the Hartington community,” McTaggart said. “The customers have been awesome – this is an awesome community.”

Before making the move to Hartington, McTaggart had lived in Emerson all of her life except for her college years.
