Local business to expand

Hartington — Folkers Brothers Garage located in the Hartington Industrial Park will be enlarging the size of their building and adding some new employees.

Hartington City Council members approved the building permit at the Monday’s City Council meeting on the condition the Hartington Community Development Corporation gives their approval on the permit.
The Community Development Corporation will meet this week.
“I have talked to them. They don’t see any problem with the permit,” said Zoning Administrator Leroy Hansen.
The addition, which will be approximately 100 by 140 feet will be used for office space, a parts room and a repair facility.
Lee and Nick Folkers also want to put an access road into their property from the water tower road.
The brothers opened the doors at Folkers Brothers Garage in 1994 and do repair work on cars and light, medium and heavy duty trucks.
The brothers are planning to start work on the addition as soon as the ground thaws this spring and are hoping to have the work completed before fall.
Lee and Nick Folkers are also looking at adding a few new employees at the facilities.
“Positions will be opened up for an automotive technician, heavy truck technician and a parts person,” Nick Folkers said.
