Honoring Our Veterans

Cedar County Courthouse #01 City Cemetery #03

St. Michael's Cemetery #03 St. Michael's Cemetery #07

Area residents took time Monday to remember our veterans with special programs around the area.  Bobby Reifenrath, of the Cedar Catholic High School band, plays Taps during the Memorial Day program at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hartington. The Monsignor Werner Council #1233 Knights of Columbus were on hand in their full regalia for the Memorial Day service at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Members of the local VFW fire off a 21-gun salute during the Memorial Day program at the Cedar County Courthouse. At the sound of the bugle, Legion Auxiliary President Dr. Connie Micek sets a wreath down in memory and to honor those who have died defending our country as Gayle Hochstein looks on during the Memorial Day program held at the Hartington city cemetery.
