Hartington receives $505,000 CDBG

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Dept. of Economic Development awarded $505,000 in a Community Development Block Grant to Hartington Feb. 3 to help TrailManor Manufacturing Company, LLC, start a facility utilizing the plant located on the western edge of town.

The production process includes the design, manufacture, assembly and laminate of light weight recreational travel trailers. The project will create 20 full-time jobs, of which 51 percent will be made available to low- and moderate-income persons.
“We are happy that Robert and Cleo Eickhoff are confidently moving forward with this great project in Hartington. The Eickhoffs exemplify the loyal Nebraska spirit—giving back to and investing in those communities that  have been good to them,” said Catherine Lang, DED director. “We welcome this new company into our fold and look forward to its future growth and development.”
The City of Hartington will loan $500,000 to Northeast Economic Development Inc. as the non-profit development organization (NDO). In turn, NDO will loan the money to TrailManor Manufacturing to renovate the former Leprino building, purchase equipment and apply toward inventory and working capital.
The remaining $5,000 will go toward administrative-related costs.
An additional $950,000 from TrailManor Manufacturing, Cedar Security Bank, the City of Hartington’s LB840 fund, NDO, and Cedar-Knox Public Power Loan Fund will complete the project.
The Eickhoffs purchased the named and the assets of the former successful TrailManor, Inc. company based in Tennessee.
Robert Eickhoff has been associated with TrailManor trailers for 17+ years. The Eickhoffs also expect to develop and add new designs based on dealer and customer feedback.
Federal funds are made available to Nebraska from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CDBG program, which assists with the development of businesses and communities throughout the state.
