Cedar County could be in line for state bridge funds

HARTINGTON — An opportunity is in the works that should deliver road projects faster by using innovative methods that have been proven in other states.

The Nebraska Legislature has passed LB960, a Transportation Innovation Act.

The act will allow $40 million to be funneled into counties to help with bridges.

The Transportation Infrastructure Bank Fund creates the County Bridge Match Program which will devote additional funding to help repair and replace critical bridges in county road systems.
