Becker is honored for his safety record; dedication to aviation

HARTINGTON —   If anyone has ever followed Bud Becker while driving, it is not too difficult to figure out his passion in life.

After all, a plaque on the back of his vehicle says, “I’d rather be flying my Bonanza.”

Anyone who knows Roman “Bud” Becker is familiar with how deep his love of flying runs. This love and dedication has earned him the Wright Brothers’ Master Pilot’s Award.

This award is given to pilots who demonstrate professionalism, skill and aviation expertise as well as safe flying practices.

“To fly safely for all these years is quite an accomplishment,” said Richard Johnson, manager of the Flight Standards Office, Lincoln, who presented Becker with the award.
