Amazed by Maize

HARTINGTON — Cedar County Extension Educator Jackie Steffen (above) reads a story book Thursday to elementary school students at the city library. The book helped explain the role and importance of corn in today’s society. Lane Heimes, son of Bill and Darla Heimes, and Delayne Sudbeck, daughter of Matt and Janeice Sudbeck, took part in the program by cutting out corn stalks and corn kernels and displaying them for others to view.
