HARTINGTON— The Hartington 18-and-under girls’ softball team ended the regular season with a pair of victories.
Hartington topped Wynot 12-4 then came out of a slugfest with Crofton to earn the 17-14 decision.

Emily Schrempp and Michaela Dendinger scored three runs each to help lead the team against Crofton. Ashley Morten, Kelsey Lentz, Holly Kathol and Alli Walter also scored two runs apiece in the contest.
Hartington took advantage of Crofton pitching right from the start to put six first-inning runs on the board.
Crofton countered to collect four of their own off of starting pitcher Emily Schrempp.
Hartington again outscored Crofton in the second frame to take a 9-6 lead. Holly Kathol, Alli Walter and Shelby Hochstein all scored in the inning. Alli Walter singled then worked her way around the bases for Hartington’s lone score in the third inning.

Hartington took a 13-10 lead into the final frame, then put four more insurance runs on the board thanks to runs by Emily Schrempp, Ashley Morten, Michaela Dendinger and Kelsey Lentz.
Against Wynot, the Hartington girls took a 2-1 lead in the second frame and never looked back from there.
Lexi Morgan singled and Morgan Steffen walked. Both girls then made their way around the bases to score the first runs of the game. Wynot knotted the game at 4-4 in the sixth inning. Hartington eventually ended the deadlock with an eight-run seventh inning rally.
Emily Schrempp, Lexi Steffen and Morgan Steffen all scored two runs in the contest.
Schrempp took the win on the mound for Hartington.
