Coleridge area tornado relief efforts received a big shot in the arm Sunday evening as rock and roll star Bret Michaels made a sizable contribution to the local fund.

Michaels felt a personal need to help with rebuilding efforts following the tornadoes that ripped through the area in June. The super star spent a rare day off assisting with clean up in Pilger after the June 16 twin tornadoes that destroyed their community.

That day he promised residents he would be back to headline a concert that would raise money to aid individuals and families affected by the tornadoes and storms throughout northeast Nebraska.
