Memories of the good ol’ days are evoked at local event

COLERIDGE — People who came out to celebrate the holidays at the annual “Christmas in Coleridge” event Monday had a jolly good time.

The 5-8 p.m. Christmas event included visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, bags filled with candy and other items, tasty treats in the stores that stayed open late, and a chance to win some prizes.

“Christmas in Coleridge,” which gives businesses the opportunity to thank local residents for their support, is sponsored by the Coleridge Community Club.

A steady stream of kids stopped in to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus who have taken time out of their busy schedules to be at the Coleridge event for the past 10 years.

The handsome Santa and beautiful Mrs. Claus welcomed the kids and took time to visit with each one at the Coleridge Fire Station.

Mrs. Claus pulled a sack filled with treats out of a large red velvet bag and handed one to each child after they had talked to Santa.
