Coleridge man added to Golden Pica Club

COLERIDGE—Coleridge can now boast three members in the Nebraska Press Association’s Golden Pica Pole Club.

Jack Schrieber began work at the Coleridge Blade in 1960. Former Publisher Bob Yost hired Schrieber as a printer’s devil. He then worked in the print shop at the Wayne Herald and Wakefield Republican. He is still working in the industry today, as he now works for the Omaha World Herald.

Schrieber was nominated by Coleridge’s other two Golden Pica Pole winners, Bill Rischmueller (pictured right), and Bob Yost. Yost earned his Golden Pica Pole in 2002 and Rischmueller collected the honor in 2008. Only people that have spent at least 50 years in the newspaper business are eligible for the award.
