Christians Caring honors Leapley

COLERIDGE —  Betty Jo Leapley was chosen for the Christian Community Service Award for her unselfish and faithful community service.

The award was presented at the Sunday morning church service Nov. 27 at Pilgrim Congregational UCC Church, Coleridge. Vicky Gullicksen and Dolores Meier, officers for the Coleridge Christians Caring group, made the presentation.

The announcement that Leapley had been selected to receive the Christian Community Service Award was made during the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at Immanuel Lutheran Church Nov. 20, although Leapley was unable to attend as she had made a commitment to be at a volleyball supper for her daughter, Katie Jo.

Leapley has a passion for educating and encouraging all ages, especially the youth, both in and out of school, according to Gullicksen.
